Jeumont Electric and Australian Submarine Corporation sign partnership
The Australian Submarine Corporation, Australia’s sovereign submarine builder, signed an agreement to enter into a long-term partnership with Jeumont Electric during the Euronaval trade show in Paris.
ASC made the partnership public in an announcement on November 7, 2018 at the Submarine Institute of Australia’s annual conference. The partnership will generate synergies between the two organizations, which previously worked together on Australia’s Collins submarine program.
The partnership will focus on the Collins upgrade and the SEA 1000 future submarine programs. The partners will support each other with construction, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of the main motors, as well as with training staff.
ASC CEO Stuart Whiley said that the partnership with Jeumont Electric would help support and expand the capabilities of Australia’s naval and defense industry. He also pointed out that ASC had also recently signed agreements with other Naval Group partners, including FIVA and Engie subsidiary Endel.
