Saab Kockums AB has selected Jeumont Electric in partnership with Schneider Electric to supply a complete system for the Swedish Navy’s A26 submarine. The system includes two propulsion motors, converter cabinets, propulsion circuit breakers, batteries, and the command-control system. Swedish defense firm Saab and its subsidiary Saab Kockums are the prime contractors on the construction of an A26 submarine to replace the former Västergötland (A17) by 2020. The project, launched in 2010, will support the Swedish government’s goal of bolstering the nation’s sovereignty in the area of naval submarines.
