New custom generator for hydraulic activity

2 July 2019

Jeumont Electric has just been selected for the supply of an asynchronous generator from the JEGAC range (560AXS6) substituted by an asynchronous ACEC 1250 KW, 6 Poles - 1000 rpm, 5500V generator, driven by a Pelton turbine. It will be installed in the hydropower plant (just over 5 MVA) owned by PCTM (private electricity supplier) located near Megève in the Alps.

The original generator, manufactured in 1970, is not repairable, and Jeumont Electric must make every effort to supply the new generator in just under 6 months. The aim is to be able to install it before the snow arrives, for reasons of accessibility to the plant site.
As a reminder, Jeumont Electric was selected in 2017 to substitute a similar machine installed in the SALVAGNY hydroelectric power plant (see: http://www.jeumontelectric.com/videos/jeumont-electric-salvagny-central-hydroelectrique).

This successful achievement served as a reference for the choice of Jeumont Electric in this new hydraulic contract.
