JEUMONT ELECTRIC AWARDED CONTRACT TO REFURBISH THE ROTOR AT EDF’S GOLFECH NUCLEAR POWER PLANT

21 July 2025

In early July 2025, JEUMONT Electric took delivery at its Jeumont site of the 1,300 MW rotor from the Golfech Nuclear Power Plant, in the South of France, which was removed by our teams in early May during a major technical operation.

A controlled transport operation:

Weighing nearly 270 tonnes, the rotor was transported by rail, a solution chosen for its speed, safety and reduced environmental impact.

Teamwork:

This operation was carried out by teams from JEUMONT Electric, ORANO, SCALES and EDF in an exemplary coordination, ensuring a smooth transfer in compliance with the most demanding safety standards.

The rotor will now undergo a comprehensive refurbishment programme: it will be assessed, unwound, rewound and then inspected before being shipped to another nuclear power plant.

This delivery marks the start of a project lasting several months, drawing on all of JEUMONT Electric’s expertise to ensure its successful completion.

We would like to thank EDF for this renewed mark of confidence.
