JEUMONT ELECTRIC PARTICIPATES IN THE INAUGURATION OF THE DEFENCE BUSINESS LINE (LAD) AT FRAMATOME.

3 October 2025

Framatome and the CEA announce the operational commissioning of the defence sector business line at Framatome’s Jeumont site (Nord), inaugurated by the CEA’s Director of Military Applications in the presence of representatives from the French Navy and all industrial partners. Framatome’s industrial expertise, built with the support of the CEA, will be fully expressed within this new industrial facility serving French sovereignty.

Investments were initiated in 2022 to modernise the infrastructure at the Jeumont site. These investments will provide state-of-the-art equipment for the high value-added operations required for the production of complex nuclear propulsion components. The effort to modernise the equipment was carried out in parallel with specific training for the teams dedicated to the defence business line.

“The CEA’s support in meeting the high and specific requirements of nuclear propulsion is still evident today in this defence activity, whose primary objective is to be able to manufacture, assemble, test, adjust and develop these complex and specific components under the best possible conditions. […] This expertise, built up with the constant support of the State, is the result of the collective work of Framatome’s engineers, technicians and operators in Jeumont, both past and present. You should be proud of this!” says Jérôme Demoment, Director of Military Applications at the CEA.

‘We serve defence programmes with products and services from our factories and subsidiaries,’ says François Billot, Executive Vice President, Offers & Projects and Framatome Defence. ‘The Jeumont plant, with its unique expertise, contributes to the design and manufacture of pumps for the primary circuit of nuclear propulsion systems for submarines and the French Navy’s future aircraft carrier.’

‘With the establishment of a defence business line, our teams are proud to have a new industrial tool that enables us to meet the challenges of current programmes and submarines in operation. They also enable us to maintain and develop our skills,’ says Olivier Ledun, Vice President of the Framatome Jeumont site.

The line was inaugurated on 1 October. JEUMONT Electric was represented by Renaud Moretti, President of JEUMONT Electric, and Jérôme Accossato, Site Manager in Jeumont. Pierre-Emmanuel Jean-Louis, Sales and Marketing Director, and Cédric Crowet, Senior Sales leader Navy, were also present to showcase our marine solutions to guests.
